Civil War Monument - Monumento alla Guerra Civile

In the district of Thompsonville, near the Angelo Lamagna Activity Center, there is the Civil War Monument, in memory of the men of Enfield who on land and sea gave their lives for union and liberty 1861-1865. Click on photos to enlarge them.






Erected by the Town of Enfield, Connecticut A.D. 1885, also World War I memory of those who gave their lives 1917-1919, placed on 1922. The monument is just located in front of Freshwater Pond, small lake beside the Fire Department Station in Thompsonville.
























(italiano) - Nel quartiere di Thompsonville, vicino al centro ricreativo Angelo Lamagna, c'e' il Monumento alla Guerra Civile, in memoria degli uomini che sulla terra e sul mare diedero le loro vite per l'Unione e la liberta' fra il 1861 e il 1865. Costruito dal Comune di Enfield, citta' dello stato del Connecticut, nel 1885 dopo cristo, e' anche memoria della prima guerra mondiale per quelli che diedero le loro vite fra il 1917 e il 1919, con memoria collocata sul monumento nel 1922. Il monumento e' localizzato di fronte al laghetto chiamato Freshwater Pond, accanto alla stazione dei pompieri di Thompsonville.
